2 Day Kangaroo Island Tour $660
2 Day Kangaroo Island Tour Itinerary
Discover the natural beauty of Kangaroo Island on our relaxed two-day tour from Adelaide. This comprehensive trip lets you explore the island’s stunning scenery and spot some of Australia’s favourite animals including seals, koalas and of course, kangaroos. Sleep well in your choice of private accommodation and sample Kangaroo Island’s unique produce with stops to try local wines, honey and more.
Day One (lunch)
Wake up nice and early to board the coach and travel through the picturesque rural scenery of the Fleurieu Peninsula to arrive at Cape Jervis. Enjoy the views during the 45-minute relaxing cruise across the water before reaching Kangaroo Island.
Once we arrive on the island, our first stop is Seal Bay to observe a large colony of Australian sea lions in their natural habitat. The colony is one of the largest in Australia and you can walk amongst the fascinating mammals up close on the beach as they lay on the sand enjoying the sun. Be sure to have your camera ready to capture this amazing wildlife experience!
Having worked up an appetite, we’ll stop for a delicious 2-course lunch before travelling to Flinders Chase National Park. The area was devastated by fires in January 2020 but is already regenerating and coming back to life with budding vegetation. We call in at iconic attractions the Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch for amazing photos of these unique rock formations with the open ocean as a backdrop.
Our final stop on day one is the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park where you will get the chance to view all kinds of Australian wildlife. Here you have the opportunity for another amazing wildlife experience as you hand-feed wallabies and kangaroos or get your photo taken with a koala (own expense). As evening falls, we’ll drop you at your overnight accommodation to grab a good night’s sleep and prepare for a second day of exploring.
Day Two (breakfast & lunch)
Start with a hearty buffet breakfast before joining the tour for day two of exploring Kangaroo Island. Our first stop for the day is the Raptor Domain Birds of Prey display where you will witness eagles, hawks, and even owls in action as they demonstrate their natural skills and hunting techniques.
Next, we will get the chance to learn the distilling process at Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, where they produce a 100% pure Eucalyptus Essential oil from the local Kangaroo Island Narrow Leaf Mallee. We’ll enjoy another yummy 2-course lunch here and there’s also the chance to sample the Colony Cove range of Kangaroo Island Ciders’ apple drinks or pick up some unique eucalyptus produces in the souvenir shop.
For a fascinating look at honey production, we visit Clifford’s Honey Farm. This family-owned business has been producing honey since starting out as hobby apiarists in the seventies. After a guided tour of the honey room, there are heaps of honey products to sample, from honey wheat ale to ice cream and beauty products.
We call in at Pennington Bay for a photo op at the pristine beach before our final opportunity to sample the tastes of Kangaroo Island at False Cape Wines Cellar Door. Admire the views of the surrounding vineyards as you sample the winery’s range of fresh whites and rich reds.
After an exciting two days exploring the island, we’ll head to Penneshaw Hotel where you can enjoy some dinner before boating the ferry and making the journey back to Adelaide.
