3 Day Kangaroo Island Adventure

3 Day Kangaroo Island Tour Itinerary

Join our exciting 3-Day Kangaroo Island tour and uncover the island’s stunning beaches and rugged landscapes. The island is home to an abundance of Aussie wildlife, from kangaroos, seals and koalas to possums, echidnas and birds. You’ll get the chance to immerse yourself in the island’s conservation efforts and lend a hand to protect its unique biodiversity. Swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters, and chill out on the white sandy beaches. Enjoy your evenings camping (in an incident of rain, there is a veranda on site). Then by nightfall, retreat to your cosy swag and marvel at the epic Milky Way overhead.

Day One (Lunch and Dinner)

Your 3 day Kangaroo Island tour begins nice and early in Adelaide where you’ll hop on the bus which brings you to the ferry terminal at Cape Jervis. Enjoy the beautiful views along the 45 minute ferry ride to Kangaroo Island. It’s then on to our tour bus for the next three days and start exploring this stunning island. We’ll make our way to Pennington Bay, where we’ll spend some time on the beach and hike to the highest point of the island; the top of Prospect Hill.

Next up, we will visit the oldest bee sanctuary in the world before stopping by a honey farm to learn about the bees and enjoy a honey tasting. We’ll have a picnic lunch here before heading to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery and family-owned Dudley Wines. Here, you can take in ocean views and sip on some delicious wine.

Finally, it’s time to hit the hay at our campsite, aptly called “Happiness”, which offers kitchen, bathroom, and lounge facilities, and grants private access to a stunning beach! Roll out your swag under the stars and dream about all the fantastic things you’ve seen and done today.

Day Two (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Another early start ensures you have plenty of time to enjoy your second day on the island. We’ll head to Seal Bay, home to around 800 sea lions which you’ll find just snoozing along the beach! Enjoy a 45 minute guided tour presented by experienced guides who you can ask all about these cute animals.

Then it’s on to the impressive Flinders Chase National Park. Soak up the beauty of the many rock formations, pretty beaches, and all the animals who live here. We’ll be checking out a lot today! First, we’ll head out to Admirals Arch where you can enjoy a lovely stroll and spot New Zealand fur seals. Then it’s on to Remarkable Rocks, and yes remarkable they are, as they’re more than 500 million years old.

Finally, we’ll return to our camp for another tasty dinner and a starry night in your cosy swag.

Day Three (Breakfast & Lunch)

The final day of this tour will begin with a morning hike before heading to Kingscote for some coffee. For the remainder of the morning, you will have time to explore the northern coast of the island. You can weave among the caves before arriving at Stokes Bay. The beach was voted the best in Australia in 2023! You’ll get to spend time on the beach and enjoy a picnic lunch, before going for a stroll and animal spotting along the American River.

If the weather permits, you can enjoy some free time snorkeling or lounging on the beach.

In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to volunteer and contribute to conservation efforts. Activities vary based on the time of year but can include helping at a not-for-profit wildlife organisation or doing a beach clean-up.

Once this is done, you’ll have time to freshen up at the campsite before packing up and catching the ferry in Penneshaw at 5:30pm.* We will enjoy one last dinner together (own cost) before your guide parts ways. From Cape Jarvis, your Sealink bus will connect you back to Adelaide at 9pm.

*On occasion, we will still use the 7:30pm ferry. You will be advised in the week leading up to the tour if this is the case.
