Kangaroo Island is one of Australia’s most beloved natural wonderlands, with abundant wildlife, delightful produce, gorgeous beaches and stunning views creating the perfect holiday destination!

One of the spots that makes Kangaroo Island such a delightful place to visit is Seal Bay, and its colony of, you guessed it – Australian sea lions! At all times of day, you can find these cheeky oblongs lazing around the shoreline, frolicking in the sand and the waters beyond.

Entry into Seal Bay is free, although tour prices apply.

So, you can easily take yourself for a self-guided tour, wandering along the 900 metre viewing boardwalk and catching great views of these funny sea dwellers, or you could join an amazing tour and learn everything there is to know about one of Kangaroo Island’s most famous residents!

Once you have experienced Seal Bay’s wonders, be sure to check out these other amazing Kangaroo Island experiences:

Flinders Chase National Park

Flinders Chase National Park is up there with the likes of Kakadu and the Daintree when it comes to incredible natural experiences. With its wild coastline, incredible animal population and bizarre rock formations, Flinders Chase is a national park that can’t be overlooked when visiting beautiful Kangaroo Island.

Keep your eyes peeled for echidnas, kangaroos, koalas, wallabies and all kinds of fascinating birds and reptiles before making your way to the Remarkable Rocks, one of Australia’s strangest rock formations and a captivating sight to behold!

Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park

Kangaroo Island’s amazing animal population was hurt badly by the recent bushfires, and this is why places like the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park are so imperative to their survival.

The wildlife park works as a refuge for scores of animals, with a focus on conservation and rescuing threatened animals. And, luckily for us touros, we can see these animals enjoying their safe habitat, with all kinds of Aussie species found wandering around the grounds – it’s a memorable family activity for sure!

Vivonne Bay

Vivonne Bay consistently ranks among Australia’s best beaches, which pretty much makes it the best beach on the southside of the country. And it makes sense, as Vivonne Bay is a supremely beautiful beach.

Pristine white sands give way to turquoise waters, and what’s even better is that this sublime shoreline is just around the bend from Seal Bay, making it simple to experience them both in the one afternoon!
