Summer
If you want a summer holiday where the beaches are at their best, Kangaroo Island in summer is the time to be here. Summer ranges between December and February. It doesn’t get very hot in summer as it only reaches about 24 degrees Celsius. At night it can get as cool as 14 degrees Celsius.
Autumn
Autumn has mixed weather going between warm and cooler days. The waves at the beach are a bit calmer around this time of year too. March to May is when you can enjoy these beautiful days during autumn. As winter starts approaching, the nights start to cool down reaching as low as 11 degrees Celsius. But the days are still keeping warm getting to about 22 degrees Celsius.
Winter
The rivers around Kangaroo Island become fuller and the island becomes lusher. As winter hits, it’s really when you notice more of a change in the weather. June to August are the winter months of the year. The days still get a bit warm reaching 16 degrees Celsius. The nights cool right down and drop to single digits getting to about 9 degrees Celsius.
Spring
September to November are the spring months! Kangaroo Island welcomes back the blooming flowers and birds are back chirping. Similar to autumn, the days are warm but the nights are a bit cooler. You should expect a high of 21 degrees Celsius during the day and night reaching a low of 10 degrees Celsius.
How can I get to Kangaroo Island?
You can either catch a ferry or a plane to Kangaroo Island. Getting a ferry is a cheaper option and you will need to catch it from Cape Jervis in South Australia.
What can I do on Kangaroo Island?
Kangaroo Island is perfect for nature and wildlife lovers. But it’s also a beautiful island that feels like paradise. If possible, try to stay at least two days on the island!
