There are several different trailheads for each of these hikes, so choose the right one for your adventure! We’ll list some easy, forgiving hikes to tougher, more adventurous bush hikes.
A short walk with ocean views: Lighthouse Trail
Length: 2.5km
Take the scenic lighthouse trail from Vivonne Bay. This one is perfect for everyone, no matter what your fitness level is! The paths are accessible, and you can park up at the lighthouse and use that as your starting point.
5-Day Adventure Hike: The Wilderness Trail
Length: 66km, taking 5 days to complete.
If you’re ready for a real bush adventure, then the Wilderness Trail is the one for you.
Explore the wilderness of Kangaroo Island to immerse yourself in nature. Take a walk through the bush and explore the beauty of Kangaroo Island’s wilderness! This is a steady but long bushwalk that travels through the coastal terrain, as well as tough, wild scrub and bushland.
Coastal Hike: Snake Lagoon
Length: 4.5 km return
Check out Snake Lagoon Hike – it’s an exciting hike that ventures across ocean views as well as cliffside pathways.
You can either start the hike from the corner or the intersection of Buick Drive.
This is a 1-hour hike to complete, and it goes all the way up the cliff edge. There are challenging walks, or pace walks, that you can do from the starting point, which all range throughout different difficulty.
Head up to the beach and go up the cliff to explore this serene hike! It can be quite a challenging hike as it’s pretty steep.
