Baby kangaroos have a very strong survival instinct. They are very small creatures, and if they sense danger then they’ll quickly jump into their mother’s pouch in any emergency.

Two joeys can share a pouch at the same time! Although one kangaroo might still be a newborn in the pouch and only just developing, the other one might be a little older and returning to nurse. The pouch is like a nursery for different stages of growth!
