How to Quad bike at Kangaroo Island

For all those adrenaline junkies out there, there is no greater adventure within the Kangaroo Island than quad biking. An action-packed activity that is both exciting and educational.

What is Quad Biking?

A quad bike is essentially a four-wheeled motorbike that is designed to travel every type of terrain. The driver straddles the bike much like a motorbike and steers and controls the speed by the handlebars. However, as it is a four-wheel vehicle, it is a lot safer to use compared to a motorbike as there is a larger surface area, and therefore harder to tip over from sharp turns. Most of the time, quad bikes are used in rough terrain, as riders can glide over large bumps and sandy roads without fuss, much like a mini four-wheel drive. Even if you aren’t an experienced driver, you will easily get the hang of it after the guide fills you in on the basics.

Age Restrictions

Age restrictions can vary depending on the quadbike company, but it is typically children under the ages of 16 years old are not allowed. However, if they are between 10 to 16, they are able to accompany an adult on the bike, but only as a passenger and never to drive.

How long does it go for?

Depending on your route, it usually lasts between an hour to three, with rests in-between.
